Loren Biography
Loren Breen is the Director of Government Relations at Animal Policy Group, where she advocates on imperative issues to advance animal welfare and expand access to veterinary care. With six years of advocacy experience at the state and local level, Loren utilizes her expertise to develop policy, build strong coalitions, and influence legislative and regulatory decisions. Her efforts have contributed to meaningful change across states in access to care laws and rules.
Loren holds a Master of Public Policy degree, which imparted a strong understanding of data analysis in policy and has informed her work engaging with legislators, stakeholders, and the public to build a coalition of support for crucial initiatives. Through her professional endeavors, Loren continues to make a tangible impact in the realm of animal policy, advocating for innovative solutions that benefit pets, veterinarians, and community.
She is a member of the Veterinary Shortage Task Force, which works to better understand the ongoing challenges faced by the veterinary community and how animal shelters and rescues can collaborate with veterinary partners.
Loren routinely publishes articles, participates in interviews, and presents at conferences to increase awareness of access to care issues and empower people to participate in the legislative process.
During graduate school, she interned at the Arizona House of Representatives as a Research Analyst for the Committee on Regulatory Affairs and the Committee on State and International Affairs, and taught Introduction to Statistics for the Social Sciences at the University of Arizona. In her free time, Loren enjoys camping, kayaking, and bicycling.
